In the 2020's we don't need gold taps... we have other stores of value.

Some will be banned by countries.
Others will be throttled.

And yet more will be curtailed... in an attempt to keep both citizens and their stored wealth domestically.

In this rush... there is ALWAYS a rush towards cultural artefacts... art has meaning that traverses currency and time... and therefore its value is in its expression of the human spirit.

Wen I joined... there was a website by @CryptoArte where in a matter of days the 10,000 artworks were minted... after remaining mostly untouched for years.

That moment will happen again for crypto art. For as much as we joke here that we are still at the beginning... we truly are. There is an absolute scarcity of cultural artefacts tokenized into crispy ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens.

More than that... there is a known scarcity of tokens... where those that used to believe in their legacy currency as a store of value... can begin to hedge with a few digital assets.

@RayDalio talks about how shifts can happen very quickly once they have begun. No one knows how far away that might be... but once they named the global financial crisis in 2007 the GFC.. it was too late.

The 'debasement trade' already has a name. What we haven't yet seen is the mass trade of assets into digital ones in an urgency setting... ie: what would normally be termed a run on the banks... or a run on a currency.
